The Greater Accra Regional Office of the Lands Commission has been commissioned, marking a milestone in enhancing land administration services in Accra.
The Greater Accra Regional Chairperson, Surv. Yvonne Odoley Sowah, in her welcome address, stated that the Commission is committed to making the office a “Centre of excellence in land service delivery,” emphasizing the new complex’s role in improving service to the public.
Lawyer Alex Quaynor, National Chairman of the Lands Commission, announced the forthcoming opening of another office in Tema to better serve the Eastern part of Greater Accra and to reduce unauthorized interferences in service delivery.
Hon. Abu Jinapor in his remarks stressed the land’s significance in economic growth and development, noting the past challenges due to the absence of Regional Lands Commissions. He outlined the government’s land administration reforms, including digitization efforts, and the nearing completion of office complexes for the National Lands Commission and in Tema.
Surv. Benjamin Arthur, the Executive Secretary, noted the project’s completion reflects the Management’s efforts to provide a conducive work environment, ensuring better performance, and promising further enhancements with additional resources.
Key figures such as the Deputy Minister-designate Hon. Akwasi Konadu, traditional leaders, past Executive Secretaries, CEOs of sister Agencies, Chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Lands and Forestry, Hon. Francis Manu Adabor and some Members, the La Traditional Council and other Traditional councils, Management members of the Commission and others.
The inauguration promises a new era in land administration in Accra, focusing on improved service delivery, efficiency, and tackling past challenges through collective effort and dedication.
